Summer Art Programs

Art Center is thrilled to offer nine weeks of unique, child-centered programs throughout the summer of 2024!

Our programs are led by certified, experienced teachers who are experts in their fields. Meet the team HERE. We promote group learning at Art Center, where participants are emotionally, intellectually, and aesthetically engaged in solving problems. It is through creating and finding meaning, that each person grows through the ways of others! Each day will be filled with a variety of hands-on art activities, games, dramatic play, and team building. If weather permits, campers will have at least one hour of outdoor time. Participants will take walking field trips to various locations within the West Irondequoit community. All participants will receive an Art Center t-shirt, and pizza lunch on the last day! Children are expected to bring a water bottle and snack each day, and a lunch Monday-Thursday.

Just for Teens Dates: July 1-3, 2024 Time:12pm to 3 pm Cost: $100 Suggested ages: 13-18

This program is designed as a studio experience for teenage artists. Over the course of three days, there will be lessons in drawing, painting, jewelry making, digital art and animation. Artists will be encouraged to set goals and explore their individual voice in their work.

Rockstar Camp: Art Center’s Version Dates: July 8-12, 2024 Time: 9am to 3pm Cost: $275 Suggested ages: 5-12

Calling all rockstars and popstars! This week will give you a VIP backstage pass to everything art, inspired by our favorite stars. We will be inspired by musical icons, amazing costumes, and the lyrics that speak to our souls! Get ready to ‘Shake it Off’ and join this week of ‘Fearless’ fun!

Nocturnal Investigations Dates: July 15-19, 2024 Time: 9am to 3pm Cost: $275 Suggested ages: 5-12

Come to Art Center for a week of starry nights and nocturnal investigations! Our art will celebrate the moon, stars, and all of the creatures that fill the skies or crawl out at night. We will be exploring these themes in drawings, paintings, assemblages and other mixed-media projects. Young artists will be enchanted as we soar into summer nights!

Theater Arts Camp Dates: July 22-26, 2024 Time: 9am-3pm Cost: $275 Suggested ages: 5-12

Performance: July 26 @ 3pm

This program is specifically designed to introduce young children to the joys of theater arts, with a production at the close of each session. Children, between the ages of 5-12 years-old will explore basic acting skills. Each child will have a speaking role in a play, along with learning music and movement. Our facility is equipped with a small stage, perfect for your child’s earliest theater experiences!

Olympic Adventure Dates: July 29 to August 2, 2024 Time: 9am to 3pm Cost: $275 Suggested ages: 5-12

The 2024 Summer Olympics are happening! Lets take a journey to Paris, through our art, and join this historic event! Young artists will spend the week creating Olympic inspired art and playing games. We will celebrate our favorite games, athletes and focus on all things that the host city, Paris, has to offer. So pack your suitcase, get ready to make art, and join Art Center for the Summer 2024 Olympics!

Down on the Farm Dates: August 5-9, 2024 Time: 9am to 3pm Cost: $275 Suggested ages: 5-12

This week will be a delightful farm-themed adventure! Grab your straw hat and climb aboard the Art Center tractor as we get ‘Down on the Farm!’ We will use a variety of materials to create adorable farm animal friends, rural landscapes and more!

Mission Impossible Art Camp Dates: Monday, August 12 - Friday, August 16, 2024 Time: 9am-3pm Cost: $275 Suggested ages: 5-12

Welcome secret agents! If you choose to accept this mission, you will enjoy a week of decoding, solving mysteries, and art adventures. We will go on spy missions, use our critical thinking skills, analyze clues, create traps and focus on teamwork during this exciting week.

Beach Bash Dates: Monday, August 19 - Friday, August 23, 2024 Time: 9am-3pm Cost: $275 Suggested ages: 5-12

Let’s make a splash this week during Beach Bash Art Camp! We will explore the sun, sand and sea in our artwork. Artists will be busy creating mixed-media art, kinetic sand, tropical sunsets and more. So grab your sunglasses and join us at the Art Center beach!

Fairytale Forest Dates: Monday, August 26 - Friday, August 30, 2024 Time: 9am-3pm Cost: $275 Suggested ages: 5-12

This camp will take place in ‘Once Upon a Time.’ Art Center will be transformed into a magical forest, while young artists go on a magical art adventure that they will never forget. We will bring some of our favorite fairytales to life through art and invent new stories to share.
