Group Art Sessions

Art Center offers group art experiences for all ages! Most programs run for six weeks, and the supply fees are included in the cost !
Each program must meet the minimum enrollment to run.
We promote group learning at Art Center, where participants are emotionally, intellectually, and aesthetically engaged in solving problems. It is through creating and finding meaning, that each person grows through the ways of others!

The cost is $125* when you are registering only one child.
If you are registering more than one child from your household (for any program in the same session) the cost is $115 for each.
MONDAYS:
Sew Fun Together! Child and Adult Sewing Class (Formally ‘Mommy and Me’) This class is designed for one adult and child, who are interested in sewing together! This is a relaxed environment that will allow adults and children to create individual and joint creations, while developing skills on the sewing machine. We invite children to come with parents, grandparents, care givers, aunts, uncles, older siblings, or anyone who wants to join us. It is a time to bond, create and have fun!
Recommended age range: Any age with adult

Sewing for Teens & Adults Now is the perfect time to learn to sew or to develop your skills on the sewing machine. Just think of the possibilities that knowing how to sew will give you! This class requires no experience. We will crate small, fun projects to help develop the necessary techniques to pursue your sewing goals.

TUESDAYS:
Art Inventors: Young artists are invited to a fun, hands-on studio style art class! Students will have the opportunity to use a variety of art materials and learn new techniques. We will be drawing, painting, and constructing different thematic pieces each week. Kaitlin uses in-progress critique to guide young artists in the reflective process if artmaking.
Recommended age range: 8-11 years

Fairy Architecture: Fairy architecture is designed for young builders who want to make their own fairy gardens! Come discover the joy of transforming the things we find every day into magical little fairy houses and objects! In this class, students will focus on seeing the world through a fantastic lens. Young children will be delighted to imagine and invent tiny worlds, while learning to organize their creative process through notes and drawings.

WEDNESDAYS:
Studio Art for Tweens This class is a great opportunity for emerging artists! We will explore a variety of subject matter, techniques and mediums. Participants will engage in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed-media projects in a supportive studio environment. It is the perfect class for those who want to push themselves artistically and make friends who love art!
Recommended age range: 9-13years

Studio Art for Teens With Portfolio Development This class will help guide artistically minded students through portfolio standards, expectations, and projects for application-based fine arts high schools, colleges, and universities. Students will receive portfolio instruction, assignments designed to help them improve their personal portfolios, and advice on art materials. This course centers on refining the skills required to create an application-ready portfolio of work. This program does not guarantee acceptance into any high school, college, or university.

THURSDAYS:
Character sculpture Participants will learn how to design and build your own original character (OC)! From idea to multi-view sketches to modeled sculpture, participants will leave with all the tools necessary to take their OC’s to the next level!

Develop your own original character (OC) digitally! We will explore your OC’s backstory and environment through short, creative writing and translate that through illustration. Students will come to understand how to define key traits through visual details and create something unique! Students will also have the option to learn the basics of animation in this course using Procreate to make a full realized animated clip.
Recommended age range: 14 and older

SATURDAYS:
Saturday Morning Makers Join your friends at Art Center every Saturday, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am for our Saturday Morning Makers! This is a relaxed art experience for young artists. We provide a wide variety of materials and a different theme each week for inspiration. All you need to do is show up and have fun creating!
Recommended age range: 5-10 years

Payment and Refund Policy:
Studio classes usually must have a minimum of 5 participants in order to run as scheduled. A full refund will be given if a class is cancelled.
Full payment for programs, workshops, clubs, group lessons, and events are expected to be made to Art Center of Rochester LLC prior to the start date.
Participants will not be considered registered until all of the necessary paperwork and payments have been made.
Registration and supply fees are non-refundable.
Refunds will be granted, in full, up to one week before the program start date.
A 50% refund will be granted throughout the week before, and up to the day before, the program start date.
After the start date, we will not offer refunds for any programs or events.
