Discovery Team The home school Discovery Team will meet weekly for 3 hours, with a focus on creative problem solving. Throughout the six week session, the group will be given various challenges, and work together to construct innovative solutions to a variety of physical and conceptual problems. Participants will be pushed beyond conventional thinking, and draw on their many skills to solve problems with creativity and confidence. The Discovery Team is perfect for young inventors, artists, and all who appreciate a fun challenge!

Open to ages: 8-15

Program Dates: Thursdays 3/14, 3/21, 3/28, 4/4, 4/11, 4/25 *no class on 4/18

Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Home School Programs

Our homeschooling programs are designed to provide an enriching, educational, arts-focused opportunity for children. We encourage learners to explore their curiosities, while experimenting with a wide range of processes, and developing new skills. Experienced art educators facilitate each session,in a studio environment, with a focus on constructive, hands-on learning.

Offerings:

  • Art Explorers Art Explorers will investigate a range of concepts, through mixed-media activities, designed to inspire self-directed learning.

    Open to ages: 5-8

    Program Dates: Thursdays 3/14, 3/21, 3/28, 4/4, 4/11, 4/25 *no class on 4/18

  • Art Inventors Art Inventors will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, while exploring diverse techniques in their artwork.

    Open to ages: 9-12

    Program Dates: Tuesdays 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, 4/02, 4/09, 4/23*no class on 4/16

  • Studio Art Studio Art examines conceptual and technical aspects of art making, and are guided toward developing their own personal artistic voice.

    Open to ages: 13-18

    Program Dates: Wednesdays 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 4/24 *no class on 4/17

  • Graphic Design I Graphic Design introduces participants to the fundamental skills of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Students will use their skills to create art in our new iMac graphics lab.

    Open to ages: 12-18

  • Graphic Design II Graphic Design II builds on the fundamental skills of Adobe Photoshop learned in Graphic Design I. More advanced projects will be created introducing the use of drawing tablets and a digital scanner. .

  • Theater Arts Consortium This program is designed for children who wish to take part in everything that goes into building a play from the ground up! Participants will be involved in the play writing process, acting, music selection, movement, scenery/prop making, costume design, and more! At the end of twelve weeks, the theater arts group will perform for an audience.

    Open to ages: 6-15
